Chronic Pain and Disability
Experiencing chronic pain or living with a disability can feel maddening. When the unique challenges of pain or disability pile on top of all the usual challenges of everyday life, everything can feel harder – to the point of feeling like you can’t live life the way you want to. It’s overwhelming, isolating, and so much more. As a person also born with a disability and living with chronic pain, I’m passionate about supporting people living with these conditions as they work on finding a path to creating a life that’s fulfilling. It is absolutely possible for you to live a full, complete life while participating in activities and relationships that are deeply meaningful for you.
Anxiety – it’s that inner voice that constantly whispers to you. It tells you to worry about the ‘what if’s.’ Never really feeling like you are doing the right thing because anxiety just takes over and tells you there’s something wrong. It says to you ‘nothing will ever be good enough’ and ‘you just have to deal with it all.’ It’s awful and consuming – but what if it didn’t have to be that way? What if you could learn how to quiet that anxious voice to the point where it doesn’t get in the way of connecting with the people and activities in your life that are important to you. By learning how to lead with curiosity about your thoughts and emotions, you will be able to start the process of better understanding why you feel the way you do and understand the role anxiety has been trying to play in your life.
